At SERENE, we’re big supporters of conscious fashion. We recently shared how Victoria Road is bridging the gap between style and compassion, and we’d love to put another purpose-driven fashion company on your radar.
Kyu Melange is dedicated to empowering artisans in tangible ways throughout the manufacturing process. “Kyu” means progress in Japanese, and “Melange” means mixture in French. Kyu Melange (Q-Mey-Longe) was launched in New York and offers wearable art created with materials sourced from thirteen countries around the world. All of their products are handcrafted, and their curated fabrics are hand-woven and hand-dyed by women in emerging countries.
To support the production cycle for their Spring/Summer 2015 collection, the inspiring company hopes to raise $50,000 with an Indiegogo campaign. Contributors not only help support the cause, but they also receive perks such as handwritten thank-you notes from the founder and a trip to Colombia with the designer to tour the production facilities.
Check out the video below to learn more from founder and CEO Kesi Gibson. There are only a few days left to pledge, since the fundraising campaign closes January 29th. You can also support Kyu Melange by joining their social media communities, facebook.com/kyumelange and @KyuMelange on Instagram and Twitter.
