For thousands of years people have traveled to India in search of answers to life’s deepest mysteries. Whether you’re coming to experience the colorful culture or are on a spiritual quest, India has a way of re awakening our senses so that we can dive deeper into the meaning of life. We are super excited about this trip and the opportunity to serve you and share India with you through our eyes and the eyes of our teachers… and of course, through the lens of what we love: Bhakti, Yoga, and ADVENTURE!
Journey to India
We will fly into Mumbai and head straight to Goverdhan Eco Village. The Govardhan Eco Village is situated on 50 acres of pristine farmland and aims to demonstrate the principles of self-sufficiency and localized economy to the world. We will stay in eco-friendly cob houses in the naturally charming village, eat gourmet local dishes made from organic grains and vegetables grown on the land and tour the facilities to see how a group of bhakti-yogis are making a difference towards a greener world. We will practice yoga daily, hear from Radhanath Swami, swim in the inviting bio pool and have the option to receive Ayurvedic treatments at their world class Ayurvedic Center.
After some days there, we will head back to Mumbai for the Flower Festival! Thousands and thousands of colorful flower petals showering the deities and the entire temple room! The pictures make it look like the most ecstatic flower-fight- celebration ever:) We will get to hear wonderful discourses from my teacher, Radhanath Swami, at the beautifully carved sandstone Chowpatty temple as well as experience real India through the moods of celebration with God in the center.
We will then head to Rishikesh; a small town situated on the banks of the sacred Ganges River in the foothills of the Himalayas. Here we will practice Yoga & Meditation each morning, hike through the himalayan foothills as well as white water raft on the Ganga! A time to relax, restore, and reconnect to nature in the pristine environment of mystical India.
We will spend our last few days in the most sacred of villages, Vrindavan; a village with over 5,000 temples celebrating the birthplace of Lord Krsna.
India is a WILD place! Dust, noise, material inconveniences and craziness around every corner. When we are able to go beyond the material chaos that sends westerner after westerner with their bags packing, there is a legitimate opportunity for our soul’s eyes to open and our heart to blossom.
