Here is something I know for sure: before you can truly lead your life into a direction that will bring you joy, success and fulfillment, you have to understand yourself.
There is really no short-cut. (Bummer, I know.)
It doesn’t matter if we are talking about your work, your love life, your body, your health, your relationships… you name it.
Greater self-understanding paves the way to loving your authentic self and approving of who you are on a profound level.
The best way to understand yourself -according to my humble experience- is journaling. Yes, you read correctly, good old writing your soul out on paper.
Think about it, your thoughts can race at a 1000 miles/hour, weighing the pros and cons until there is no tomorrow, and getting yourself on the fast lane to anxiety and confusion town. Before you know it, you are totally overwhelmed by all the things you should, could, and ought to do. Oh la la… let’s not go there.
Especially, in a society where we are so used to looking for the answers outside of ourselves, we forget where the real answers to our personal happiness reside:
within our own soul, our own depth, our own intuition.
Personally I have journaled since I was 11 -with periods of lots of self-exploration and then periods of creative dry-spells.
When I began journaling about specific questions, however, that asked me to explore the way I see myself and the way I act in this world, things began to shift very noticeably.
I believe that this -considering and exploring specific targeted questions about myself in writing- has helped me enormously in finding my own truth and getting a conversation going with myself that is based on my own authenticity and vulnerability (the keys to a fulfilling life).
That’s why I put together a simple 10-day Soul Journaling workshop for YOU:
Soul Journaling starts next Monday, August 11th.
It works like this:
You sign up for the workshop (it’s only $39.00) and every morning you will have a beautiful email from me in your inbox asking you a profound question that you will free-write about and consider for yourself for 15 to preferably 20 minutes.
All you need is a journal, a pen, and the willingness to look within yourself, unleash the creative process of writing, and let your soul speak.
Louise DeSalvo, author of Writing As A Way Of Healing says:
“Engaging in writing, in creative work, then, permits us to pass from numbness to feeling, from denial to acceptance, from conflict and chaos to order and resolution, from rage and loss to profound growth, from grief to joy.”
I couldn’t agree more with her.
In Soul Journaling, I will help you get this creative process of self-discovery started so you can unveil hidden parts of yourself and see who you are more clearly. That -CLARITY- is the cornerstone of all sound decision making in life.
Sign up here. Registration closes Sunday, August 10th at 12 midnight EST.
With love, light, and penmanship
